Socks can also be dropped off at the Front Office or Student Services Office here @ Chavez Middle School. The final day to turn in socks is Friday, December 20th. (Please note that socks must be NEW)
Now that we are in the month of December, it is important for you all to know that first semester will end Friday, December 20th. Therefore, these next few weeks will be important for students as this is crucial time for them to ensure they are studying for all quizzes/tests, getting all homework/projects completed and turning in any missing assignments. Parents, you can help your child by:
1. Making sure your child attends school every day – ON TIME!
2. Communicating with your child’s teachers about their progress.
3. Making sure they get plenty of rest and come to school ready to learn.
4. Reading with them and helping with homework.
5. Encouraging your child to do their best and praising their efforts.
Thank you for partnering with us here at Chavez to ensure the success of your child! I wish you a wonderful Winter Break and a blessed New Year!!

California is one of 45 states nationwide to adopt the new Common Core State Standards (CCSS) in English/Language Arts and mathematics. This shift in teaching has been characterized by some as “the most significant change to classroom instruction since 1998,” when California first adopted its own academic standards. Click the Common Core link above to learn more about the standards and how the Oceanside Unified School District is implementing Common Core in the classroom.

that's Very Important Parents!
Once a month, on the third Wednesday, from 9:00 - 10:30 am, 5 lucky parents will have coffee with Mrs. Frazier and get up close and personal with the amazing work that happens here at Chavez Middle School.
